This was taken apart and used as a donor so that I could use it for the USB leads in an aftermarket head unit. Perfect for my application. Included photos for those who are interested in seeing the innards.

Rugged, quality manufacture. Replaced one of two dash cigarette lighters. Now only common USB cable for two accessories. Installed another in headliner console near mirror to power devices with short USB cables; radar detector and dash cam. Like the LED lighted socket.

Installed this USB plug in replacement of the cigarette port in my '04 Jeep wrangler TJ. Practically plug and play. The only thing I had to do was open up the original hole on the switch panel with a file and the plug screwed in placed. If anyone with a similar year model and want to swap out the cigarette port. The OE wiring is Blue/White (+) and Black/White (-). Just cut off the OE connector and crimp in the female terminals that is included with the kit. No need to in line fuse it as the stock cigarette wiring is fused. Hope that helps. This USB port is a must have in your vic if you own a smart phone.

I mounted this on a custom switch panel I made for my 88 YJ. Happy with it so far! If I were to do it again I’d get the model that includes the digital volt meter as it’s always good to know where your battery is at especially for 4x4 enthusiasts who have lots of extras hooked up to our batteries. I hooked mine up to the ACC so it’s only on with the ignition so I suppose the volt meter is slightly moot. The blue light matches my stereo and LED dash lights which is also a plus in my book.

I installed this socket in my car, and I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. Aside from the necessary tools to cut a hole in my car's plastic console, cut and strip wires, and check to make sure I had it wired correctly, I didn't really need anything but what came in the package (I did use two of my own crimp-on connectors to connect the wires from what had been my 12V "cigarette lighter" power socket to the new USB socket). The blue LED ring on the socket is handy for finding the ports in the dark; the fact that both ports are 2.1 amp ports means that it charges my smartphone quickly; the plastic nut allowed me to tighten the socket and make it nice and snug when I installed it; the rubber cover will probably be nice for covering the socket in case the blue glow becomes a nuisance or distraction at night when the socket isn't in use (and the rubber ring that attaches the cover to the socket doubles as a sort of rubber washer to make the whole assembly feel secure when it's installed and tightened up); if the cover isn't necessary for your application, you can pull it off or even cut it off with a utility blade after it's been installed.

Powered by a decent sized 12v battery, this thing works well. The screw sits well, mounts solid and the rubber cap will keep sand out as well.

My van came with two factory ports for outlets, but had only one outlet. I bought this to install in the second outlet hole. It fit great. The blue light indicates you have power. Also helpful in letting you know you've installed it correctly. It powers my cell phone wonderfully. This does come with extra wires and connectors. My van came with available wires so I only used the additional connectors.

I wired this under my dash in conjunction with an Add-A-Circuit fuse box tap in order to power a dash camera and a Garmin GPS. Now those, along with my radar detector, are all hard wired. I was never a fan of multiple wires snaking around the dash and plugging in to multiple cigarette lighter receptacles. Perfect product!! Thanks!!

My car's cigarette lighter power outlet never turns off and will drain the battery if I forget to unplug something, so installing a dash cam was a challenge. This is exactly what I was looking for. I used an add a circuit kit and powered it from the fuse panel on a circuit that turns on and off with the ignition and then connected to a ground. I found it very easy to install, but I do have experience with installs like this so some might not find it so simple

This product is awesome, and it helped me complete the updating of my 98 explorer by having a fixed usb ports for charging and other uses along with my previously installed Bluetooth module. I must admit that after just a little elbow grease to make the hole I needed a little larger, this product worked like a charm once installed. Though my vehicle is 20 years old, I am now capable to have a few of today's tech. And the blue light sure helps with the wow factor.
